Our story
Meshkat (مشکاة) means “niche” – the illuminated alcove mentioned in Ayat al-Nur (The Verse of Light) in the Qur’an. That idea of a glowing, spiritual corner of the home is at the heart of this brand. Meshkat Home began as a personal search for decor that felt both deeply Islamic and aesthetically modern, something that could sit comfortably in a Toronto condo or a traditional family home and still feel authentic.
What started as a few wooden calligraphy pieces made on a small laser machine has grown into a curated range of wall art, accessories, and kids crafts designed to make remembrance a natural part of your environment.
